Recital of Kanthaka, the steed of Prince Siddhartha. Describes the story of Prince’s great renunciation. The Prince mounts the horse led by Channa; the three march along jovially until river Anoma; standing, musing; Kanthaka leaps across the river with Prince on its back and Channa clinging to the tail.
Composed to the lasting glory of the good steed, the noble born, high minded and of form beautiful, Thuranga Vannama moves with the rhythm of the horse.

Lankan traditional drum and dance music which he tries to link with modern styles. He has also lectured at the Royal College of Music.
He and his wife, Chandrakanthi Shilpadhipathi, a talented dancer and a folk singer, have delighted audiences in more than 30 countries.
